MORMAN EMIGRANT TRAIL
July 25th - the day we started, it was over 100 in Sacramento. So Chris drove us to Sly Park near Placerville, at about 4,000 where it was 75 degrees. We biked up the Mormon Emergent Trail, then up CA 88 all the way to Carson Pass -- over 9,000 feet. We then biked down to Lake Tahoe and camped near Inspiration Point and Emerald Bay. Beautiful.
CAMP ON CALIFORNIA HWY 88
We biked past Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Graeagle, Chester, Lassen Volcanic National Park and (in this photo) Mount Shasta. Where we camped one night.

Kathy was searching for a town where the elevation and population were the same.
